Laddie rocking his Micklem, for Calvin!

Postby Moutaineer » Sun Feb 14, 2016 9:37 pm

I've been meaning to post a picture to thank Calvin. Laddie seems to like his new bridle, and I think it looks very sleek an modern on him. Excuse the hairy throatlatch...

The bridle looks very smart, and what a gorgeous horse. Brrr to all the snow, we are having a hot spell in NZ, so it looks particularly chilly there!

Moutaineer - WOW - that looks so sharp!!!! I am thrilled for you. Laddie looks like a poster-boy for the Micklem! You should be doing (paid!!) adverts for them. My chappie took full advantage, and did jaw contortions which did not enhance our riding experience, but he's a much older guy and has only been ridden with a flash. I was so hoping it would suit him - but, better yet, it suits YOU.

Thanks for posting. I was wondering how you made out! :D

You will notice that my poster child is wearing a fly bonnet when there is snow on the ground in an attempt to dull his reactivity to noise...

To be fair, the neighbors were shooting at each other with a snowball gun and then decided to make an ice slip-n-slide just over the fence from the arena, so he had some reason to be a little jumpy!

Yikes! And to think, some people have to look for opportunities to desensitize their horses.

The well dressed horse!

I thought perhaps those were fur lined muffs!

Can you elaborate on the snowball gun? :)

It's a brightly coloured plastic monstrosity that allows you to fire snowballs at some velocity over a fairly long distance. Looks like one of those giant supersoaker water pistols. More than that I cannot tell you as I have not handled one in person.

Thanks! Being in a (mostly) snow-less location I was trying to get a visual on that one....
