I have unfortunately lost my favourite loop knife and need to replace it.
It was a VS from Dusky Forge in Aust... Small, narrow loop, perfect for collateral grooves and 'fine' trimming. Hand-forged, beautiful wooden handle that was lovely to hold.
1) my local suppliers don't have the knives in stock.
2) I can't get hold of Dusky Forge - their email address doesn't work (I'll try ringing them).
What other good quality loop knives are around? Dusky Forge knives are about $200 AU so I'd like to find something in the same sort of price range, eg not stupidly expensive (I do have to consider the exchange rate to NZ$ and the postage cost). I want a narrow loop, short stem, good quality metal/blade so it holds a good edge.
Trimmers - loop knives?
Re: Trimmers - loop knives?
Check out Ringel knives. He has lovely knives in any size you want and the handles are lovely. I sharpen my knives a lot and these take and keep a good edge. http://www.ringelcustomknives.com
