Cellulitis... of the face.

Postby Astral » Sun Jun 26, 2016 12:20 am

Sigh.
(And I am working with a vet on this, just throwing it out there anyhow).

Anyone had any experience with facial cellulitis?
I have a gelding who's prone to cellulitis, but it's always just been hind legs. This is a new one.
I'm doing the usual SMZs, bute, etc. Cold hosing isn't really an option, but I'm doing cold water compresses and the occasional ice pack.
There's a wound that caused it - he managed to find something in the field on which to cut himself open (but three of us searching the field and fenceline could find nothing). Dealing with the wound as well.

Anyone dealt with this before? Any tricks for trying to keep him comfortable until it resolves?
