American Breeches sizing?

The boyfriend will be in Texas for work, so I'm hoping he can get some breeches for me that I can't get hold of easily here.
But I don't know the sizing!
Does anyone know the equivalent for EU 42, or Aus/UK 14 ???

I'm hoping to get some smarktpak pipers, and/or ovation celebrity slim secrets.

The breeches sizing is supposed to be the waist measurement in inches, though of course that doesn't always ring true.

According to this chart, a UK 14 would be a US 12. I'm usually a US 8/10, and have the Pipers in a 32, so I'm thinking you'd want a 34. These breeches run a bit big in the waist and it seems most people need a belt with them. I think I had a pair of Ovation breeches before and they ran a little larger.

Yes, breeches sizing is different than American street wear sizing. Why must it be so confusing!?

Agree that the original Pipers sit low and the waist is a bit large. I wear a 4/6 and the 28's fit fine in the butt and legs, but I'm always yanking them up due to the big waist. Belting them helps - but, they still seem to slip down. I really don't care for mine - thank goodness I only bought one pair.

A friend recently bought the new grippy style and she loves them!

Well, he bought me the ovations celebrity slims in a 34. A bit too big, might have been better with a 32 for my waist but I do have a big bum.
They are quite comfy and better being a touch big than a touch small.
