Pony reins 48"

Anyone using pony sized reins on their "horse"?

I bought the thinline reins and they are 54" and are sooooo long. They are so long that I can't use my rein-aids with them or I'm almost at the leather portion of them. Their pony sized reins are only 1/2 inch shorter in the leather area - so it won't be a big enough difference.

Today, I ordered Nunn-Finner soft reins in a pony size 48" - I think using them with or without the rein aids will still be a better fit for my petite horse and me. My mare is probably 15'1 and I'm only 5'2 and don't have super long arms. I'm hoping they will be perfect for us.
