Wide Cob-size Bridles or Short Horse-size bridles

Postby HafDressage » Fri Jan 15, 2016 2:19 am

I have a friend who is looking for recommendations for bridles brands that either have a wide cob or a shorter than normal full-size.

Her horse needs the length of a cob in headstall, but those bridles have nosebands and throatlatches that are too tight. She can't buy a separate noseband because the ones wide enough are way too long. So, she needs a compromise bridle that is both short enough and wide enough.

Does anybody know of any brands that would work for this situation?

Thanks in advance! :)

I bought an Anky Cob size snaffle bridle for my Connemara who is 14.2 and does not have a fine profile like an Arab. It has nice padding and fits him well. They may have discontinued these bridles but this site has them listed.

You can mix and match Bobbys bridles. Work with Rock Horse Ranch, she's great!

I have the same issue. I just buy full size horse bridle and have a saddler guy cut it down to size where needed. My horse is cob size from bit to bit but everywhere else horse size. I have one now I need to send out to get worked on so I can use it .

I have a similar problem - cob is too small in the noseband - horse is too long that I can't tighten it enough . The cheek pieces also as a bit wide on her, they don't lay flat enough against her cheeks. UGH....

You can mix and match bride parts at Delfina Saddlery. They are really nice bridles and really affordable:
