Show us your pets!

Postby Sunshine2Me » Fri Oct 21, 2016 2:44 am

A great way to build posts is to request photos! Post photos of your pets here. This is my current favorite photo of Magic. He's so adorable! He's a 21 year old Arab and I've had him 19 years. He is my sunshine!

I've got pomeranians!
Yoshi in front, I've had since he was a pup. Cashew at the back, I've only had for a few months from a rescue site.

This is Ursala. I got her from the no kill shelter the day after Christmas. We always had a cat when I was growing up, but she's the first cat I've had as a grown up. Black kittehs are the best!

What got me into guinea pigs?! Well, it seems like I pretty much always had them. One dies, you get another to keep the others company. That circle just goes on and on...

I am so sorry AmityBee. Piggies are so fragile.

Our first piggies (the neopolitan ambassador pictured above) and Belladonna started a long line. Like horses, they are not solo creatures. We've always had pairs, and had 3 for a few years. They're our snuggly, cuddly cat replacement -- two cat people, with one who is terribly allergic to them.

Roger, another road find, picked up at only 9 weeks old. He is my shadow.
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid ... =3&theater

Leo, another road find. Not quite 2. I really need to rehome him. He loves dogs, not so sure about cats (he runs away from them). Sweet easy going guy.
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid ... =3&theater

I have one other horse, Gaila that for some reason I don't have picture of. Rip's full sister and one other barn dog Hank who was also a road find. Hank is a hound/lab mix that I tried to rehome, but he will not be contained. Can flat foot jump a 4 ft fence. So he came back to be our farm dog, sweetest dog ever who thinks he is a lap dog but weighs 60 lbs. I have a total of 5 horses, 4 personal dogs, 2 foster dogs and 2 cats. We own our own farm thankfully!

Well, the rabbits I kinda just stumbled on. I went to a small animal swap with a friend of mine where I saw the cutest bunny ever and had to have him. It snowballed from there. Lately I've thought a lot about getting out of them though, to focus more on Phoenix and direct my money one direction.

Some of this years Arapawa lambs from Flock 1 & 2, there are some missing from this lot as their mums were accidentally included in with Flocks 3 & 4 then I got a bit of a surprise when the lambs arrived! Flock 3 is due in a few weeks to a Pitt Island ram, Flock 4 may produce a few surprises as these are last years hoggets which BountyBar may have helped himself to while I was short of paddocks.

Nearly 50:50 ewes to rams again this year and 9 sets of twins so far, there were a few of the previous years hoggets lambing this time, so these are always a bit risky in the outcome because they are young and inexperienced, we had 2 stillborn ram lambs - both of which were huge, one was a twin and was twice the size of his sister!

Here is Zorro enjoying a bit of sun next to my spinning wheel. He is my main "helper" for doing crochet and weaving.

yes I got bitten by the bug a year ago when trying to find something to do with my fibre.

I now have 4 wheels [Majacraft Aura, Peacock, Beulah & Ashford Traditional] and about 20 drop and supported spindles, and 7 looms...

I spend a lot of evenings spinning etc, gives me something to do while I'm not doing horsey stuff.

Favourite fibres to spin are Arapawa [of course], Merino and silk. And mixes of those!
