Show us your pets!
A great way to build posts is to request photos! Post photos of your pets here. This is my current favorite photo of Magic. He's so adorable! He's a 21 year old Arab and I've had him 19 years. He is my sunshine!
Re: Show us your pets!
Magic IS adorable! Love the boots too!

I've got pomeranians!
Yoshi in front, I've had since he was a pup. Cashew at the back, I've only had for a few months from a rescue site.

This is Ursala. I got her from the no kill shelter the day after Christmas. We always had a cat when I was growing up, but she's the first cat I've had as a grown up. Black kittehs are the best!

What a fun thread!
First off is Phoenix
Then my fur kids. Trudy, Rue, and Nova.
Trudy is a cattle dog mix (I assume, she came from a shelter), Rue is my miniature dachshund, and Nova my 9 month old doberman puppy.

I also raise rabbits, and show them when I have time. There are a few I have that are not pictured.

I love the assortment of critters y'all have, esp. the guinea pigs and rabbits. Can you say how you got interested in these ?

Why am I so remedial, in trying to get these silly things to embed in my posts? My screenshots files are too big.

These are my two guinea pigs, Ollie, a teddy (actually, an US Teddy, that's what they are called in germany) and Io (a sheltie).
Usually, I try to always have three piggies. A neutered male and two girls. But I just lost one on monday. *sigh*
This is Pepper. And even though we tried everything, cortisone, antibiotics, inhalation, she died of pneumonia monday night...
What got me into guinea pigs?! Well, it seems like I pretty much always had them. One dies, you get another to keep the others company. That circle just goes on and on...

Re: Show us your pets!
I am so sorry AmityBee. Piggies are so fragile.
Our first piggies (the neopolitan ambassador pictured above) and Belladonna started a long line. Like horses, they are not solo creatures. We've always had pairs, and had 3 for a few years. They're our snuggly, cuddly cat replacement -- two cat people, with one who is terribly allergic to them.

Roger, another road find, picked up at only 9 weeks old. He is my shadow.
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid ... =3&theater
Leo, another road find. Not quite 2. I really need to rehome him. He loves dogs, not so sure about cats (he runs away from them). Sweet easy going guy.
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid ... =3&theater
I have one other horse, Gaila that for some reason I don't have picture of. Rip's full sister and one other barn dog Hank who was also a road find. Hank is a hound/lab mix that I tried to rehome, but he will not be contained. Can flat foot jump a 4 ft fence. So he came back to be our farm dog, sweetest dog ever who thinks he is a lap dog but weighs 60 lbs. I have a total of 5 horses, 4 personal dogs, 2 foster dogs and 2 cats. We own our own farm thankfully!

Re: Show us your pets!
Well, the rabbits I kinda just stumbled on. I went to a small animal swap with a friend of mine where I saw the cutest bunny ever and had to have him. It snowballed from there. Lately I've thought a lot about getting out of them though, to focus more on Phoenix and direct my money one direction.

Re: Show us your pets!
Some of this years Arapawa lambs from Flock 1 & 2, there are some missing from this lot as their mums were accidentally included in with Flocks 3 & 4 then I got a bit of a surprise when the lambs arrived! Flock 3 is due in a few weeks to a Pitt Island ram, Flock 4 may produce a few surprises as these are last years hoggets which BountyBar may have helped himself to while I was short of paddocks.
We are getting lots of lovely colours as you can see!

Re: Show us your pets!
More lambie shots..
Nearly 50:50 ewes to rams again this year and 9 sets of twins so far, there were a few of the previous years hoggets lambing this time, so these are always a bit risky in the outcome because they are young and inexperienced, we had 2 stillborn ram lambs - both of which were huge, one was a twin and was twice the size of his sister!

yes I got bitten by the bug a year ago when trying to find something to do with my fibre.
I now have 4 wheels [Majacraft Aura, Peacock, Beulah & Ashford Traditional] and about 20 drop and supported spindles, and 7 looms...
I spend a lot of evenings spinning etc, gives me something to do while I'm not doing horsey stuff.
Favourite fibres to spin are Arapawa [of course], Merino and silk. And mixes of those!
