Happy anniversary to me and Miss A.
One year ago today I made it legal and bought Miss A. It's been a fun, interesting, and educational year. She has calmed down considerably. She used to zoom away from the mounting block (at a fast walk) and we'd have to do a few laps before she came back to me. Now she walks nicely. Her ground manners have improved substantially and she is much more trustworthy on cross ties. We made the switch to dressage which she enjoys. She is a very quick learner and always tries. She is definitely a seat ride and would prefer not much rein contact. She's put on muscle and her top line and hind quarters look fantastic. She still cribs, but it's not as intense. I've learned to trust her. Last night we rode down the aisle from the outdoor to the indoor (that is allowed at the barn although I'm not 100% comfortable) and she gave the stink eye to a hose but nothing else. I'm so happy that we are partners.

It's so wonderful to find a horse that you can get along with and trust and it certainly sounds like she's happier having you as her person, happy anniversary!

Happy Anniversary and wishing many more years and joyful days with her!
Watching someone Ride down the aisles of a barn makes me crazy! Imho it's a bit dangerous especially if it's a concrete aisle.
