Jingles for Annabelle to get back to work please!

Postby StraightForward » Wed Jul 17, 2019 4:47 pm

Followup ultrasound on Annabelle's DDFT, 4 weeks post-Prostride treatment is this afternoon. Things were looking really good until last Thursday, then it swelled up. Looked a lot better the last two days after liberal applications of cold boot, Surpass, bute and standing wrap. I'm nervous to see what we'll find this afternoon. Annabelle is fat as a tick and I'm so over handwalking. Please keep your fingers crossed for us 3 pm MST!
Keep calm and canter on.

Well, more hand walking. She was improved, but not enough for the vet to even bother with an ultrasound. We'll try again next month. :(
Keep calm and canter on.

Healing vibes coming Annabelle's way. Sorry you have another month of this, but better safe than risking a reinjury

Hugs

Ugh, this has been a long road. SF. I'm so sorry. How very frustrating.

Yep, a full year shot at this point. I'll be riding Tesla before I'm back on Annabelle. The sale on my old trailer fell through today too. I'm having a margarita and sulking.
Keep calm and canter on.

I think you fully deserve your Margarita, and a sulk.

Oh no, how very frustrating for you, and probably for Annabelle too.... healing jingles headed your way.

Sending many, many healing jingles your way!

We're on day 155 of 180 stall rest + minimal hand-walking. And yes, I'm counting. Sigh.

Well darn, SF! We will simply have to redouble our healing jingles efforts on your behalf. I am so very sorry.

Well, you're getting close at least! I hope the next phase of rehab isn't so onerous for you or your horse.

Might need to put A back on her crazy pills. She's been holding it together pretty well until the last few days. The vet wanted me walking her in the indoor due to the firmer footing. Well, the next day they dumped about 20 yards of shredded bark in there, and a bunch in the outdoor. It will be nice in the long run, but not what the doctor ordered for the near future. Walking the firm packed area around the outdoor will probably be too stimulating for a non-drugged Annabelle.
Keep calm and canter on.

It just doesn't get any easier does it  ?

At least you have chemicals.
