Finally feeling prepared

Postby PhoenixRising » Mon Nov 23, 2020 5:57 pm

33 weeks now, and I’m finally feeling mostly ready.
I really enjoy sitting in his room, rocking and feeling him kick. It’s so hard to believe he’ll be on our arms so soon.

I’m doing well. I haven’t hit the stage of being totally over pregnancy yet. So far the worst part is sacrum pain I have and not being able to sleep well at night as a result and the heartburn. The chiropractor helps considerably with managing the sacrum pain.

Even the uncomfortable kicks and stretches still make me smile. After everything, it’s a welcome reminder he’s still ok in there.

So cute! I love the little wall hanging above the crib!
Keep calm and canter on.

Wow! You have done a much better job of getting ready than I did :P Well, at least I painted the room a beautiful blue color (which he has never changed, and my baby is 18 now!), put some cordless blinds in and bought a crib. The rest I kinda pieced together those first few weeks. Luckily, friends gave me essentials like a bassinette (loved it, it was on wheels so I could roll it all over the house), a Play-n-Pak, diaper pail and diapers. I'm so excited for you two! babies are THE. BEST. So are big, stinky teenagers, but you'll get around to that later.

Love it! Glad you are doing well. Rest up! Once the little one is here it’s hard to get good rest.

My poor niece who is due end of January is miserable. She’s all of 4’10” and there is just no room.

Glad things are going well! Love the room--books and critters, books and critters, can't get much better than that :)

I might have over-prepared. Honestly. But I'm preparing to quit my day job in insurance and pursue my massage business (which I finally officially started this year) full time after maternity leave. It's giving me a LOT of anxiety, and I think some of it manifested in this room, and trying to be as prepared as possible.

We are super outdoorsy people between riding, hiking, kayaking... all the things we like to do mostly have us outside lol. It seemed fitting that we try to help him like the great outdoors from the beginning

I've always been an avid reader, so I cared a lot that he has books. We got quite a few from our baby shower, but we've also made a couple trips to half-price books and a couple consignments sales where we've picked some up. I've still got some of the "classics" from my time growing up that I feel strongly he needs, so eventually I'll be making more trips to pick some up here and there.

It's already hard to get good rest. But I'm sure it'll be even worse once he's here. This hip pain at night is unreal and I can't get comfortable. I wake up to turn at least once an hour, and end up getting up way early in the morning once I can't find a comfortable way to lay anymore. I've even had hip/glute cramps (instead of charlie horses) waking me up at night this last week. Not at all fun.

As much as I'm really enjoying this time, I do miss Phoenix though. Between the cold, my trip to AZ (I guess I never posted about that), and then not feeling great after I got back from traveling and locking myself in the house for a couple weeks just in case... I haven't seen her in probably 6 weeks. We do have maternity pictures planned for Dec. 5th though and I plan to take a few with her too... I mean, how could I not? I'm excited to see her, especially since I won't be leaving the house again except doctors appointments until after he's born.

I can't believe you are at 33 weeks! Super cute nursery!!!!!

......horse massage? I am certified too, but have a hell of a time getting enough clients My market is super saturated though! I have a FT job to pay the bills and do massage on the side.

I can't believe it either! And now its 34!! Only about 5 1/2 weeks to my due date.

Actually, I'm a Licensed Massage Therapist for people. I have my own home office I've been working out of and am hoping to make it "full time". However, my plan is to eventually learn equine massage as well and do both! Hopefully within the next year or two!
