Long story short, work is having a curry competition, with goat that has been locally sourced (the large roading construction project I am working on has a clause to remove the goats from the area they'll be building the road through).
I am after a kick-ass curry idea. I am leaning away from the perhaps-expected Indian curry. One person let the cat (goat?) out of the bag and said they were thinking Thai... I am leaning towards something Jamaican (is jerk seasoning considered curry??).
Hit me with your ideas! The more unusual (and delicious), the better.

Re: Curry ideas
Maybe as a variation you could crust the goat with indian spices, then grill. Serve with a sauce inspired by eggplant bhartha (roasted/stewed eggplant, tomato, onion, pepper and indian spices). Will give all of the flavours of a lamb curry, but kicked up a notch.
Re: Curry ideas
I should add that each 'contestant' (currently 23 other contenders!) will receive a vacuum-packed portion of de-boned and diced goat leg, approx 2 pounds.

Re: Curry ideas
There are so many different versions of Indian curry, I would be amazed if you could not find a fairly unique one.

Re: Curry ideas
I keep seeing this thread title and thinking it's about grooming implements.
Keep calm and canter on.
Re: Curry ideas
I think they may object if I present them some rubber curries
Received competition 'rules' yesterday... Three heats (scuse the pun!) of about 8 competitors in each, run on three consecutive weeks. Whoever is on site can taste and gets ONE vote. Top two from each heat go forward to the "grand final". The final will be judged by a local hotel restaurant's head chef, and the prize (apart from a trophy and bragging rights, of course) is a voucher for that restaurant.
So, it's a crap shoot. May as well assign random numbers to the curries and pick the top two that way.

I want to come and work at your office to be one of the 'tasters'. lol
Re: Curry ideas
I ended up being able to take two packets of goat meat home (there was surplus) so made two curries on Sunday night. We ate the first, "Butter Goat" (or should that be Butt-er Goat? haha) last night for dinner. It was incredible.
The second is Goat Rogan Josh. Totally different from the first, less sauce, more intense flavour, bit spicier but not in a blow-your-socks-off kind of way, more just a nice 'kick' that doesn't linger too long. That's my curry entry for this Friday's round... I'm quietly confident & I'll let you all know how it goes!
