Jingles appreciated
There is inflammation on my lumpectomy scar. Have to have a breast ultrasound, then see my breast doctor who is out of the office this week. Of course. Primary care physician thinks it's probably a cyst but he won't give a definitive diagnosis and I don't blame him. I HATE starting this process of the phone calls for appointments, seeing assorted doctors (PCP, radiologist, breast doctor), scheduling, time off for whatever treatment. The good thing is I work at the hospital and have utmost respect and confidence for all medical personnel involved. But I'm kind nervous, so jingles, white light, prayers, healing thoughts, whatever you want to send, are appreciated.

Re: Jingles appreciated
Of course you're nervous. I hate it when all the "ologists" start in. And then, I think, "I am so very lucky to get such wonderful healthcare."
Then I go back to being grumpy and worried!
Hugs.

Jingles PaulaO. Try to dedicate some time out of each day to relax and pamper yourself. Even if it's only 20 minutes. Hugs XO

Re: Jingles appreciated
Ultrasound shows a bit of cellulitis. Fortunately my PCP put me on antibiotics Tuesday. I'm still seeing the breast surgeon Monday and I'm betting I'll get more abx, which is fine with me. The radiologist said the cellulitis isn't caused by the seroma or lumpectomy scar, but because the skin is thinner, it is easier to compromise.

It's probably the best news. There's some infection, most likely due to a skin break/tear (I'm thinking hay in my bra....) Hopefully the oral antibiotics will take care of everything.

Re: Jingles appreciated
Saw the breast surgeon yesterday (Monday). She said this does not present as a typical case of cellulitis but that's what the US reads. She said irradiated tissue often acts wonky. She put me on a 7 day course of clindamycin with the caveat to double up on the probiotics. Even I'm non-clinical, working at a hospital puts me at higher risk of c. diff and MRSA and she doesn't want to take any chances.

The antibiotics are working but the cellulitis isn't 100% cleared up. Going riding today so I must be o.k. LOL

Re: Jingles appreciated
I only made it 20 minutes in my lesson. Mainly trotting and a lot of 2 point (because I am now a hunter princess, doncha know, wink wink). Just don't have 100% energy yet.
Re: Jingles appreciated
But the outside of a horse is good for the inside of a (wo)man, per (I think) Winston Churchill, so your plan of care including lessons seems brilliant. Continued healing to you....
Re: Jingles appreciated
Jingles for continued healing.
