I'd like to give my trainer/coach a small thank you present for all his help in getting me to my bronze. But I'm torn on what will be meaningful (ie not a gift card) but also not over the top. To make things slightly trickier, he does not have his own horse at the moment. So while he's actively riding I don't think he needs anything like nice saddle pads, etc.
Any ideas?

How about a book? There are lots of wonderful options on either horse/training subjects or something totally different he might enjoy.

Oh, I like the idea of a customized show chair with his logo!

Great idea! I will just mention that it is totally okay to give gift certificates to things your instructor loves/enjoys....besides horses.
Often, that is even more of a treat as it takes them away from their everyday.

or sneak a peek of what size jacket he wears and get a nice winter weight vest for the chilly season.
